What is the Sales Era?
the sales era lasted from 1920's to the 1950's it began due to people becoming more connected and no longer just buying products blindly. This era was unorganized and chaotic companies only cared about having the lowest price not quality, if you had a better price you had more customers.
companies believed any product could be successful if a company just pushed hard enough. "selling what they make, rather than making what the market wants to buy." Selling-era tactics can be risky for companies, as being to aggressive can turn off consumers, perhaps even push them into the arms of a competitor. |
Example
companies that did the best in this era were ones able to connect to their costumers on a more personal level, often using humor facts or by displaying confidence.
